This year’s Forbes list of highest paid celebrity in the genre of Sports has been released. Floyd seems to be a very ambitious athlete, who says “I want to be the first fighter to earn nine figures in one night.” But there is a buzz that Floyd Mayweather might retire quite soon. As of 2015, his estimated net worth is $300 million. 

This is the third time out of four; Joy Mayweather has been ranked in the highest paid celebrity list by Forbes.

2. Manny Pacquiao

  • Earning – $160 million

Pacquiao is a Filipino world champion boxer. Known to be the potential competitor of Mayweather Jr, Manny is paid almost half times less than Mayweather. Pacquiao also boosted his income with the $160 million haul ranking #2 on the list of highest paid celebrities. Previous to this, Pacquiao was on the #11 position on this highest paid celebrities. He is also known to have increased his income through endorsements such as Nike, Foot Locker, Nestle, etc.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo

  • Earning – $79,5 million
  • Field – Football

This charming Portuguese footballer is one of my favorite sports-persons. Real Madrid’s Cristiano takes back home a notable amount of $79.5 million ranking #10 in the Forbes list of celebrity 100. Real Madrid, believed to be one of the world’s valuable soccer club offers him around $50 million as salary and benefits. Whereas commercial partners like Nike and Tag Heuer adds the rest of his income.

Ronaldo counts around 158 million followers on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. His fans all around the world must be willing to pay him more than this just to watch him play 🙂

4. Lionel Messi

  • Earning – $73,8 million
  • Field – Football

Lionel Messi, the Barcelona star is known for the best goals and strategies he makes that leaves the opponents to go crazy. According to the earnings, Messi shares a similar salary as that of Ronaldo’s taking home a paycheck of $50 million from his soccer club. He ranked #13 on the list of Forbes 100 and took the fourth position in the field of Sports with a sum of $73,8 million. Like many other popular sports-persons, Messi is also known to be the ambassador for several brands.

5. Roger Federer

  • Earning – $67 million
  • Field – Athlete, Tennis

With $67 million as his salary, he ranks #16 on the top 100 list of highest paid celebrity and comes fifth among the genre of Sports. Federer completed World #2 last year and continued his contract with several blue-chip companies including Credit Suisse and Rolex.

6. Lebron James

  • Earning – $65 million
  • Field – Athlete, NBA

Lebron James is one of NBA’s top players making a huge earning of $65 million. Known for this passion and dedication, this American basketball player gets the sixth position among the athletes. James is the first NBA player to appear in five straight NBA finals since the 1960’s.

Tiger Woods is remarkably known as the most successful golfers of all time. He is ranked #37, with just half a million less earning than that of Phil’s. As of 2015, Woods has an earning worth $50,5 million earning.
